When to take Newborn photos?

Q: Do you offer any albums, prints, canvases, etc?

A: Absolutely! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way, you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art heirloom albums. And all of this is done & ordered right through your online gallery!

Professional Newborn photos are typically done between 7-14 days old. At this age the first round of cluster feeding has typically subsided. Also, if breast feeding, Mom's milk has come in allowing your baby to typically sleep longer stretches. Along with sleeping more, your baby is less aware of their surroundings and less apt to be startled. These all allow for amazing wraps, graceful poses, and excellent photos.

is newborn photography safe?

Newborn photography, when done by professional photographers with a strong emphasis on safety, is a safe and rewarding experience. As a registered Nurse I not only rely on my Nursing background, but I have also taken extensive training on posing babies focusing on the safety and well-being of your baby.  My newborn photography sessions focus on babies well-being. The pace and poses are all focused around what baby is able to do. If your baby is uncomfortable we will transition to a different pose or different prop making sure your baby is comfortable, safe, and happy.

Do newborn photographers provide props?

Most newborn photographers provide props. Each photographer is different, but my private indoor studio provides a wide variety of custom made props. The fabric props will vary from hand died fabrics and wraps, to vintage blankets. I also have custom head bands, bonnets, and rompers. Along with my custom fabrics and outfits, I have a wide variety of beds, buckets, baskets, and boxes for posing or plushies, flowers, and textures for the perfect photo.

Are newborn Photos worth it?

what is maternity photography?

Maternity Photography is the art of capturing photos of a pregnant mom typically during her last trimester. These photos can have a variety of styles including studio or outdoor, classic vs creative, gowns vs simple vs nude. As a professional Maternity Photographer I utilize my private indoor studio along with local outdoor settings. I also incorporate timeless looks ranging from glamorous gowns, simple fabrics, and beautiful nude poses. The sessions I offer are focused on the beauty of being a mother. Empowering mom to love her body and embrace this special time.

WHEN SHOULD YOU GET MATERNITY PHOTOS?

Maternity photos typically happen between 30-34 weeks. During this time moms beautiful bump is showing. This time is considered the most comfortable time, at least as comfortable as growing a human can be. Your morning sickness has typically subsided by now and you are not as tired as you were at the end of the first trimester.  As we moms know this growing a baby thing is hard work and these maternity photos are a great way to celebrate these special times.

ARE maternity PHOTOS WORTH IT?

Maternity photos are absolutely worth it! Mom brain is real and pregnancies fly by. The morning sickness stage feels like an eternity. The feeling of needing a perpetual nap is exhausting and the thought of getting up after you get comfortable is the worst idea you can have. Maternity photos allow you to capture the beauty of your pregnancy. These photos will remind you of this special first phase of motherhood.

What is family photography?

Family photography is the art of capturing photos of your family at a particular moment in time. These photos will capture the essence that makes your family one-of-a-kind. These photos can be indoor or outdoor, they can be a group, individual, or candid pictures,  they can have pets, and have seasonal themes. I like to focus on candid moments to provide photos representing your authentic connections as a family. Family photography is a blank canvas allowing for my creativity and technical expertise to shine through on  your timeless photos.

WHY FAMILY PORTRAITS ARE IMPORTANT ?

Family portraits are extremely important. The saying of "you'll blink and they won't be babies any more" is a very true reminder of how fast our babies grow up. Your days often feel long, but your years feel short. Family portraits are the perfect way to remember these precious times. They document the unique bond you and your family have. Your families personalties will be showcased in these portraits that you can display in your home.
