Being a mom can be a hectic experience—believe me, I know from experience—and it’s often difficult to find enough time for you in the middle of caring for your kids. But no matter how busy it gets, remember it’s still important to take that time to do that self-care with a perfect day at one of our Ann Arbor Hair Salons.

The more you value yourself, the better a mother you’ll be able to be to your kids. And I don’t know about you, but one of my absolute favorite ways to practice self-care is to get my hair done. Luckily, in Ann Arbor, there are a bunch of great places to do just that.

One One Nine

One One Nine is the definition of chic. They have a super-sleek all-white aesthetic going on, and all their décor looks like it’s straight off of Instagram. And that’s not even starting to get into the hair! They do an amazing job with everything, but are particularly good with blondes, particularly unnatural blondes. If you’re looking to try out any shade between yellow and ashy, you’ve got to give One One Nine a try. They’ll definitely make your blonde pop and give you that boost you need to feel your best.

Luminosity Salon

This place does a great job with hair, and at a reasonable price too. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and wonderful to talk to; there’s no doubt as to why this salon has a devoted local following and a lot of loyal customers. This place also has spa services, from nails to facials to massages, if you want to turn your hair day into a full all-about-you day. After all, if you’ve already started pampering yourself, why stop at hair!?

Naturally Raw Hair Studio

This place is unique because they specialize in styling, rather than cuts. They do a lot of beautiful updo work for brides—their gallery is so gorgeous, if you get a chance to take a look—so this place might be a good place for you if you’re looking for a nice style for a special occasion like a party, anniversary, or photoshoot. They do haircuts too, but they’re definitely specialists in styling, so don’t go here expecting to get the haircut of your life. But do expect the style of your life!

Orbit Hair Design

If you’re looking for something a bit funkier than the average—say a bright pink color, or some green highlights—Orbit Hair Design is the place for you. They can do natural hair colors too, but their best work are the bright, unnatural colors. Why not think a little outside the box when it comes to your hair? Your style is a way of expressing yourself, and if your inner self wants pink hair, then so be it. Take a look at their gallery to see some examples of the cool work they’ve done in the past.

There are definitely more Ann Arbor Hair Salons out there if none of these suit your fancy, but these are my favorites! It’s so important to prioritize yourself while caring for your family, and taking time to pamper yourself is a great way to do that. And we all know there’s nothing like that head massage during a salon shampoo!
